Travel information

Castro Urdiales is an old fishermen town in the north coast of Spain, half way between Bilbao and Santander, the two major cities nearby. It will provide a quiet and nice environment to hold the event, and the CIEM (International Center for Mathematical Meetings) has all the necessary facilities to promote the fruitful exchange of ideas and discussions that will undoubtedly take place during the workshop.

Transportation

The closest airport to Castro Urdiales is the Bilbao airport.

Bilbao airport

Bilbao’s International airport is only 25 Km away from Castro Urdiales and provides direct and regular connections to the main European capitals. There is a regular taxi and bus service between Santander and Bilbao (Alsa Grupo).

Santander airport

The operating airlines are RYANAIR (providing direct connections with Barcelona, Brussels Charleroi, Dublin, Düsseldorf Weeze, Edinburg, Frankfurt Hahn, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, London Stansted, Madrid, Málaga, Milan Bergamo, Palma, Rome Ciampino, Seville, Tenerife and Valencia) and IBERIA.

Accommodation

We have made arrangements for accommodation at the Hotel Las Rocas (****), where we got special rates for the course.

Accordingly, do not contact the hotel directly. We will provide the corresponding information in a future communication.

Lunches and social dinner will be served at Hotel Las Rocas.
